We build with clarity, act with integrity, and always bring the energy.
Our story
DMF Energy Inc. was founded in 2014 to enhance workforce training and combine practical field experience with disciplined business leadership. Built on Jerome Downey’s background in finance, project management, and the skilled trades as a Steamfitter-Pipefitter, the company was established to help support Canada’s evolving infrastructure and workforce needs. Today, DMF Energy has grown into a full-service consulting and contracting firm delivering professional, reliable, and client-focused solutions across industries and communities throughout Canada.
Driven by passion
DMF Energy combines technical expertise with innovative thinking to deliver high-quality construction, piping infrastructure, and consulting services. We support projects across the energy, healthcare, marine, industrial, government, and emerging nuclear sectors with a strong focus on safety, professionalism, collaboration, and reliable results. In every engagement, we treat our clients as partners and our work as a professional obligation. The relationships we build are strong, and the standard we hold ourselves to is high on every project.
Heritage & Roots
DMF Energy’s roots extend far beyond its founding in 2014. Jerome Downey’s great-grandfather, George Alexander Downey, served with Canada’s historic No. 2 Construction Battalion during the First World War, helping build critical infrastructure in France despite facing discrimination. His son, Graham Leo Downey, later became Halifax’s first African Nova Scotian Alderman and Deputy Mayor, dedicating decades to community leadership and public service. That legacy of service, construction, and community continues to shape DMF Energy today.
“My first responsibility is to the people and communities we serve.”
